Hotel Motel One Linz-Hauptplatz

The room was extremely cold and the AC/heater wasn't working. Parking spaces should also be offered since it's in the middle of the city and it is difficult to find one. The cleaning lady entered the room without permission and woke me up on the check-out day at 8 AM, that's a no-go. Besides that the room wasn't bad and the interior had a decent design with a nice view over the city.

Super central location near the old town and the Danube river bank for your morning run. Clean, pleasant rooms with very comfortable beds (book a quiet room away from the trams that run in front of the hotel. Mine was 316, facing an inner court yard and perfectly quiet) and lovely soap in the bathroom. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast doesn’t have any fancy cooked options, but the items on offer are of excellent quality: different types of proper, artisanal bread, not the precooked/reheated kind that you get too often these days, delicious Linzer torte, the local specialty cake, as well as pastries, freshly prepared fruit salad, regular but also coconut based vegan yogurt, almond, oat, soy and lactose-free milk, and most breakfast items are organic as a bonus. The reception/bar/breakfast area is stylish and modern and has a nice, intimate atmosphere. Ok, so you don’t have a mini fridge nor a kettle or coffee maker in your room. But, seriously, at the very reasonable price you are paying, you can easily renounce of that for a couple of nights. I have stayed at other Motel Ones and it has never disappointed me so far. I absolutely loved the one in Linz as well and would definitely come again. Shame that the name is misleading for potential new customers: this place is way above motel level!
